Captain: Dimitris Maltezos

CAPTAIN – Dimitris Maltezos
Dimitris was born in 1986 and grew up in Aegina Island. Being close to the sea he was dreaming of becoming a captain since a very young age. He finished high school with specialization in mechanical engineering and then continued his studies at the Academy of Merchant Marine in Syros Island gaining his Captain Class A diploma. He started his career on cargo vessels and entered the yachting industry in 2009 and since then he has worked on private and charter yachts such as M/Y Bolaro, M/Y Galini, M/Y Kallirroe and M/Y Barents, Benetti 50m. Dimitris has wide knowledge on boat repairs and he is also a professional diver. His active and friendly personality together with his excellent communication skills makes him an ideal captain on charter yachts. He is professional and dedicated captain ensuring that all guests onboard Barents Sea will have a top level tailor made yachting experience.

CHIEF OFFICER – Spyros Siveras
Spyros started his career on passenger ships and in 2016 he entered yachting. Spyros holds a Captain Class C diploma and has acquired numerous certificates including, Ship Security Officer, Navigation Watch Officer License, Life Saving & Fire Fighting Appliances Certificate, Ro/Ro passenger, Speedboat license, Offshore sailing etc.
Spyros is a great team player and always available to assist with Jet skis and water sports equipment and ensure endless fun for guests of all ages. He speaks fluent English and enjoys all water sports.


ENGINEER – Evangelos Smpiliris
Evangelos was born in 1983 and he is a Greek national. He is a graduate of the marine Academy of Macedonia. During his career he has attended many seminars in Risk Assessment and Management in the shipping industry, cargo and oil tankers handling, marine incident investigation etc. He has worked on passenger vessels and since 2011 has been on board various charter yachts including M/Y Belita and M/Y Blue Pleasure. Evangelos makes sure everything is running smoothly onboard Barents Sea and is always available to assist his crewmates. He speaks English and Italian and his hobbies are sports activities such as football and basketball.


CHEF – Vasilis Sikalias
Vasilis is a graduate of Le Monde Culinary Institute and holds two certificates in Cooking Art and Pastry. He has worked as a Chef in several five star hotels and gourmet restaurants around Greece before joining the yachting industry such as “1800” in Santorini and “25araki” restaurant which holds a Greek cuisine award. He received special training at Spondi restaurant which has been awarded with Michelin stars, and also attended seminars for French and Italian cuisines, Sushi, Modern culinary techniques etc
Vasilis has a passion for Greek and Mediterranean cuisine with specialization in fish and seafood. He impresses all guests onboard with his skills and delicious dishes offering them a complete gastronomic experience. Vasilis speaks English and German and his hobbies are history, geography and sports activities.

CHIEF STEWARDESS – Anna Glezeli
Anna was born in 1975 and she is a Greek national. She is a successful stewardess with her experience to range from luxury yachts to holiday resorts and restaurants. She has worked on M/Y Parvati, S/Y Aristarchos and M/Y Divine before joining M/Y Barents Sea in 2021. She has gained a valuable experience and has been capable to provide high standards of customer service and deal with any issue arising. Able to communicate well at all levels, experienced in team work environment and her well respected personality makes her a big asset to the crew. Anna speaks English and during her free time she enjoys sport and cinema.

2rd STEWARDESS – Anastasia Pini
Anastasia was born in 1975 in Greece. She holds a Stewardess diploma from the Hellenic Marine Academy and entered the yachting in 2012. Before joining Barents Sea’s crew she worked onboard various private and charter yachts such as Absolut King and Alexander. Anastasia is a very pleasant and friendly person with excellent communication skills and she will do her utmost in order to offer the best service to all guests onboard. She speaks fluent English and she enjoys swimming and travelling.

3rd STEWARDESS – Eleni Christoforidou
Eleni was born in 1974 in Greece. Eleni has experience in the hospitality industry having previously worked on board various charter yachts such as Maltese Falcon, Parcifal, Bonito and Little Star. She is a highly motivated and enthusiastic person with great social skills. She is organized and responsible and will make sure that the guests will be pampered to the highest standards of service. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her children and working out. She speaks English.

BOSUN – Yannis Davelis
Yannis is a Greek national with more than 12 years’ experience in yachting. He is fully qualified for his position and holds numerous certificates. Yannis has gained a vast experience having worked on various charter and private yachts before joining Barents Sea, such as M/Y Alexandra, M/Y Ouranos II, M/Y Happy Dolphin, M/Y Capri I, M/Y Serenity and M/Y Funky Choice. He loves all water sports and he speaks English.

DECK HAND – Aggelos Laios
Aggelos is 21 years old and a Greek national. He is passionate with the sea and holds an Offshore Sailing diploma and a RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore diploma. He has 10 years’ experience in competitive sailing in laser category and has participated in multiple racing events in Greece and abroad with the most highlighted performance in the 2017 World Championship. He is a skilled sailor, hardworking with teamwork skills He speaks fluent English and German and his hobbies are sailing, snowboarding and drawing.
