Captain: John Karavas

Captain - John Karavas (Greek)
Captain John was born in 1974 and holds a Captain Class B’ degree from the “Nautical College of Kimis”. He has been working on luxury charter yachts for the past 10 years and spent over 17 years on large passenger vessels and cargo ships. Cpt. John has been onboard the MI ALMA since 2018, showing guests some of the unique hidden gems of Greece. His warm smile and sincere dedication to his job make guests feel welcome and well taken care of while onboard. In his free time John enjoys fishing.

Chief Engineer – Vangelis Pitsikalis (Greek)
Vangelis was born in 1986 in Pireaus. He is a graduate from the “Merchant Marine Academy of Aspropyrgos” with a 2nd Marine Engineer degree. He also holds certificates in Life Saving, Firefighting, First Aid and Risk Assessment, to name some, as well has a speedboat license. Prior to coming onboard charter yachts Vangelis worked on highspeed and passenger ships as well as tankers. Vangelis is the man responsible for all the technical equipment onboard running smoothly. In his free time he enjoys martial arts and music.

Chef – Angelos Skaftouros (Greek)
Angelos was born in 1991 and holds a chef degree from IEK AKMH and a further certificate of recognition from TAFE S.A. in Adelaide South Australia. Angelos comes from the island of Ikaria and has spent a lot of his time abroad in South Australia furthering his craft through studies and practice as head chef at several restaurants there. He has also worked onboard charter yachts in Greece as well as restaurants around Athens and at the renowned 5-star Greek resort “Costa Navarino”. His specialty focuses on Mediterranean cuisine. He is honest, reliable and well organized in nature, both friendly and hard working. Angelos looks forward to serving his creations to guests onboard MI ALMA. In his free time Angelos enjoys playing Basketball.

Chief Stewardess – Panagiota Vassilakopoulou (Greek)
Panagiota was born in 1968. She has been working onboard luxury yachts for the past 14 years. Panagiota is extremely hard-working and aims to please guests with her extra attention to detail in all manners. She holds certificates in STCW 98, security awareness, and completed 4 years of medicine at the University of medicine in Romania. With her positive attitude and willingness to please, she makes guests feel at home while onboard. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, gardening, and jewelry design.

Stewardess – Anna Vasiliou (Greek)
Anna was born in 1981 and has several years of experience in hotel servicing. She began her career as stewardess last year on a 55-meter motor yacht while prior she spent several years working in hotels and as a waitress in restaurants. She is a positive person who enjoys helping people whenever she can. She enjoys taking trips, gymnastics, listening to music and cooking, in particular baking sweets.

Sailor – Sudath Premalal Wishwage Samuel (Sri Lankan)
Sudath Premalal was born in 1967 and has over 26 years of experience working in the marine industry. He began working on private and charter yachts in 1997 ranging from 20-35 meters. Sudath Premalal is hard working, discreet and dedicated to his craft. Guests will find him keeping the exterior of the yacht in perfect condition. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, reading, and playing board games.
